Accredit Consulting uses a style sheet that draws from the Chicago Manual of Style and The New York Times Manual of Style and Usage that we customize for each client. The following are some recent statistics from our work editing reports where there was no style sheet applied before the writing began:

  • The Quality Control checklist included 157 variations in spelling, punctuation, formatting and capitalization that had to be reviewed and corrected in each document.
  • There were 15 different versions of the name of the medical school used by different authors (i.e. __ medical school, ___ School of Medicine, ___ University Medical School, etc.) resulting in over 1,000 edits.
  • The reformatting and recreation of charts and graphs that were unusable added 40 hours to the project.

Once you have gathered all the data, completed all the assessments and surveys and generated all the reports, you will likely feel like you are just a bit too close to the writing to have a good sense of whether the Site Visitors will see what you see in the material. We also have tools that make it easier to distribute portions of the Database and Reports to faculty members and staff who need to be briefed in preparation for the site visit. Each participant can receive a digest of the portions of the information that they are responsible to represent as part of the Site Visit interviews.
